Rochester Castle is one of the best-preserved and finest examples of Norman architecture in England. Castle construction began in 1087 under Bishop Gundulf, one of William the Conqueror’s finest architects, utilising the remnants of the original Roman city walls. The Keep stands 125ft high with fantastic views across Medway.
