2 FOR 1 entry to Upnor Castle
Please complete this short form to continue:
Upnor Castle, constructed in 1559 under orders from Queen Elizabeth I, was intended to protect warships at anchor in the River Medway and at Chatham Dockyard, but proved ineffective when called to arms during the infamous Dutch Raid of 1667. The riverside setting, with the cobbled street leading to the castle make for a relaxing day out.
